What: More than 5,000 people – and probably just as many dogs – are expected at the Doggy Dash and Bark at the Park Festival. A 2K or 5K fun walk with your dog highlights the event. Canine demonstrations, pet-friendly businesses and animal-rescue organizations will also be part of the half-day fun.
Where: William Land Park, 4000 S. Land Park Drive, Sacramento

What: Whether you are a budding actor or more of a behind-the-scenes player, the second annual Sacramento Entertainment Fair has something to offer. Numerous area entertainment companies will offer booths for acting, animation, voice-overs and set design – and allow attendees to go through makeup and hair, and get into costume for an on-stage performance.

What: Pack a lunch, bring some chairs and enjoy some music – a lot of music – at the Carmichael Park Community Band Festival. Fifteen bands will perform during the two-day event, including the 59th Army Band of the California National Guard.
