There has been much discussion about CommRow and 164 feet of exterior wall climbing, which is scheduled to open October 1. Fernando Leal, L3 development which the company rehabbed the Golden Phoenix in the assembly, has also generated much discussion, with opinions about it from the blustering impresario Reno's most recent "savior".

In this interview, Leal, 45, talks about plans for the former Fitzgeralds Casino-Hotel that have not garnered the headlines.Leal is considering an operation that will attract tourists and locals with restaurants, indoor climbing and block within the music and bars, but the game will not take place in the company.

Much has been generated on the climbing wall, but people really do not know much about what is going on inside. What is your strategy for the interior?

Really the strategy was to aggregate all I was trying to do in downtown Reno before the recession.I worked a lot on Retrac, and I was involved in the design of covers and to ensure that there was infrastructure to be installed 30,000 square feet of outdoor shops in these two blocks. As you've probably read at the time, I had a signed lease with the [restaurant] Ruth Chris, and we had a deal with Lucky Strike Entertainment to convert the Fitzgerald Hotel in a Lucky Strike. So what is CommRow basically is that it's aggregating all these concepts, but look at what sort of post-lasting and great recession continuing to advance our vision.And stores that were on the Retrac are now inside the first floor and second floor. There will be four food vendors, there will be food that I describe as "we are going vertical in the vertical markets." So if we have Mexican food, it's a special Mexican dish, so it ' is a specialty. We're not trying to get foot-and-neck with all the great Mexican restaurants in Reno and offer a full, wide Mexican menu. We do not do this with sushi, we do not do this with n 'matter which of our offerings.Our idea is to let you in, and have as many circuses, which means that you are there for the environment, energy, vibe and breads are to be kick-ass, as well. And the food is good up to it. You go "Wow." The food is designed to be short menus, I will not use the tapas, and I'm not going to use small plates, as they will be full portions. But all the menus have been designed to be four or five points, all prices will be about $ 10 less, so you can get a full meal, and something where we can do a lot of volume.You can enter and have a bit of this and a little of that, without a food court. The biggest challenge is first when you have too many places to eat based on the size and also how they are close to each other, everyone wants to label a food court. This is not a food court. Each place has its own identity, its own menu, its own servers, their own culture. It will be like if you and I are walking down a busy street in Los Angeles, Chicago, and we saw some great street food, and we looked left, looked right, and we saw a little store in a small shop, a small bar and said, 'Hey, we got to go there tonight.
