All-Car Rally has perfect weather, good turnout

Belle Fourche - Demos Andy could not smile enough about participation and weather for the Center of the Nation All-Car Rally on Friday and Saturday 17 and June 18, 2011, in Belle Fourche.

"It was a big jump from the first of this year," he said."We did not know if we were going to have a show."

"They were people, just people who have worked hard to put it on," he said.

Demos has been with the show for 24 years and is already involved in planning for the 25th annual rally next year.

He is the only committee member who has been involved from the start of the annual event, and spoke as president when the leadership last year left the community.

The 120 cars has declined since last year, he said, "but last year was an exceptional year."

This year's weather and a relaxed atmosphere can help people plan ahead for the 25th annual show a must-go on their schedule.

Executive Committee this year included Vice President Doug Kraft, Misty Meyer as Secretary and as Treasurer Laurel Turbiville.

Demos said volunteers seemed to come from nowhere to help the various aspects of the show, and many do not own a car on the screen.

Activities began Friday night at Scott Peterson Motors, where the crew Peterson hosted a live band and a demonstration of burnout.

Scott admitted with a smile that he picked up the skills of burning tires and turning donuts as a teenager.

Although Hersruds of Belle Fourche, the second new car dealer in the city, does not appear that the front of the show that Peterson, even the director was a 1968 Chevrolet on the display that won a trophy Cass Heimbaugh first place .

"Even the police have sent one of his agents at all our meetings to help ensure that things would go smoothly," Demos said. "We just a lot of people just want to take care of things, and everyone does their part."

Demos said to the crowd as surprised as there were so many other high quality programs available through the hills of the north. PRCA rodeo in Sturgis, Deadwood Days of Wild Bill and baseball and softball throughout the region did not prevent more than 1,000 people around to enjoy these activities.

Thats a beautiful car..!!! my dad had one years ago back b4 i was even born.. n when ever i go to car shows with him. i wanna kick him in his ass everytime i see a car thats like the 35 chevy 3 window coupe.. but its sad that he sold it… cuz it would b a beautiful car juss like this 1… but i love the car.. i hope to find 1 of these cars one day.. steal body juss like this.
